students - 9 teachers - Option in Christian Youth Work (since 1957,
Diaconia University of Applied Sciences Unit since 1996) - Degree
title: Bachelor of Social Services + Church Youth Work Leader - This
option provides eligibility for the post of a Youth Work Leader in the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland or in Christian Organisations
(combination available at following Diak Units: Helsinki, Järvenpää, Kauniainen
and Pieksämäki) - Our emphasis: preventive basic child and
youth work (Church Pre-adolescent work -project, KIVA), experience and
adventure pedagogy (safe classroom -project), Family work (Family Centre
-project) - Our Aims: to support spiritual and professional growth, to
encourage to develop a deeper knowledge of cultural differences in social,
cultural and religion aspects - 80% of our students have three months
international practical training, especially in context of Christian
mission work.
